Over these next twelve months, I intend to improve my writing skills and to learn as much as possible on how to utilize electronic communication media platforms. Improving my skills and acquiring this knowledge will assist me on my journey to become a professional editor and writer.
I welcome the inevitable challenges and look forward to the reward. Therefore, I will do my best to remain healthy, and make it a priority to maintain a balance, between home, school, and work. I will accomplish this by getting rest, practicing yoga, avoiding procrastination, and making time for others. I must remind myself, to embrace the journey and take one day at a time.
I seize every opportunity to keep up with my weekly assignments and will continue to do so. I will try to remain consistent, by looking at the weeks assignments on Mondays and completing the reading as early as possible. Doing so, will allow my mind to gradually absorb the information and begin to knock out the assignments on or before the due date.
I am excited for this opportunity and have already learned a lot. One day, I hope to run an independent communication design business. I am confident that it would be successful. The New Media Journalism program appealed to my interest because it touches on all levels of communication. I enjoy producing quality output, but lack knowledge in a multitude of software applications. This degree will get me there.
In order to ignore the negative conversations in my head, I will strive to manage my inner critic. Also, I plan to utilize the school resources such as the course director and or student liaison’s when needed. Although, I don’t have forty hours per week to dedicate, I commit and will put forth my best effort towards earning my master’s degree.
